#Physics - #LC2017 - Glen Kiely

#LC2017 #PhysicsGlen Kiely - St. Munchins CollegeI sat the Physics higher level paper today. I thought that the paper was difficult enough, but wasn't too hard. The experiments were tough but I was happy with them.at came up.Section B wasn't too bad either, as usual, the mechanics Q6 was difficult. I did 6 questions overall: 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 and 12(a&c). They weren't too bad, there was a few questions near the ends of each question that could throw you but overall it was a good paper!Check out more exam blogs here: http://issu.ie/the-issu-…/issu-exam-blogs-leaving-cert-2017/ #StateExams2017

#History - #LC2017 - Sarah Ní Chonghaile

#LC2017 #HistorySarah Ní Chonghaile - Ratoath CollegeHonestly I was happy with the DBQ but I knew before I went in that I wouldn't get as much as I wanted written because my hand was already cramped from the week of intense writing prior! I was delighted to see partition on the sovereignty and partition section and the civil rights movement in the north reared its head in the NI section which I was delighted with. I wasn't too happy with the choices for the American section but I ended up doing a question about the American presidents' actions and if they were for good of America ( I detailed on war and said that it wasn't good and so on!) I was sufficiently happy with this paper but I would've preferred to have written much more!Check out more exam blogs here: http://issu.ie/the-issu-exam-blogs-2017/Want to win a €100 One4All gift card? #HomeEc - #JC2017 - Katelyn Dunne

#JC2017 #HomeEcKatelyn Dunne - Ratoath CollegeHome ec is one of my all time favourite subjects. However I was still extremely nervous for the exam (like everyone is). I had a vague idea of what would kinda come up, but still pretty clueless of what I was to expect considering a lot of the papers had changed a little already. When I was given the paper I started of by looking through it first. I looked pretty good. I started of with the short questions and the where easy enough got stuck on one or two but that wasn't that bad then I did the long questions. I did question 1,3,4 and 5. They were straight forward. After the exam I feel it was fair and was similar to other year.#StateExams2017

History - JC2017 - Diego Brule

Diego Alonso Brule Galleguillos - Coláiste EindeIf you can quote me from before the mocks it would be something like 'Irish history is the most boring thing ever' but, when my history teacher said one of the essay questions is always definitely Irish history, it suddenly became the most interesting topic on the course.I knew the history exam was going to be a gamble, because, even though I prepared the two definite essay questions (WWII and 20th century Irish History), The essays weren't all there was to the exams. There was a whole blank space in my mind when it came to the reformation or the middle ages. So, I went into the exam, scared by the source papers because they promised questions about Neolithic Ireland. But it wasn't that bad actually. Section 2 was reading comprehension with a bit of background knowledge, which wasn't bad either. Section 3 was very simple short answer questions which I flew through.Everything was going fine until question 4. People in history. I prepared a few of these but none came up. I decided to prepare the ones I could manage to write the most about: A woman in the Roman Empire and A soldier on the D-Day landings.Question 5 was just as tough as it was purely reformation. And then my best-prepared question: Question 6. I did part C and D of it, and it was quite easy, the only problem was, that I left this section untill the end of the exam, which meant I didn't get to finish my last essay: The Cuban Missile Crisis. But I still wrote about two paragraphs more than in the mocks. Is that good enough?I'm kind of sad I won't see history again, as it's one of my favourite subjects and I didn't get the chance to pick it for LC, but, my hand is thankful that I'm not going to be writing these huge essays anymore. #StateExams2017

Business - #JC2017 - Diego Brule

Diego Brule - Colaiste Einde Salthill GalwayBusiness P1 & P2If there was a single exam that scared the soul out of me, it was Business. Business was never my strong subject, strongly because of the high amount of memorisation that had to be done. The only topic I ever liked about business was economics on the bigger scale, but this is only 3 chapters out of about 30 chapters on the JC course. As I opened the exam in the short questions part, I felt delighted to see simple question after simple question. But I kept telling myself, don't be too happy, section 2 is coming. But in Paper 1, Section 2 wasn't actually that bad. I knew how to answer the 4 questions quite well, and when I got out of the exam I felt that went way better than expected, definitely better than in the mocks at least.Paper 2 was a nightmare though. Upon flicking through the pages to pick out which 4 questions I would answer out of the 6, I found that there were 2 questions in which I was confident in, and I knew the rest of the questions would ruin all my marks. But I hung on to it, I picked the lesser of the evils to answer, and wrote a lot, one of my pens even ran out on me!I finished it and I couldn't help but saying to myself: 'Huh, that wasn't too bad'. Of course, my expectations for business had hit rock bottom after the mocks, so that's probably why I felt better during this exam. Now I only have French, History, TG and Spanish left. I'm so glad the toughest are done.Check out more exam blogs here: http://issu.ie/the-issu-exam-blogs-2017/issu-exam-blogs-leaving-cert-2017/#StateExams2017

Maths P2 - #JC2017 - Maria Hayes

Maria Hayes - Scoil Ruáin KillenauleThis morning I was faced with the 2nd half of the maths exam. When I first got my paper I immediately checked to see if there was a theorem on the paper because it's a guaranteed 15 marks for me!! I was delighted to see that it was the parallelogram theorem!!I began with the construction question then the theorem to put myself in a good mood. Then I worked my way through the paper. I found the paper hard at times but in general it was ok. There wasn't a lot of area and volume questions, however there was a vast range of different topics on the paper such as theorems, constructions, geometry of the line and much more...I am happy with the result of the paper.#StateExams2017
